agreed. I've been playing since E34E and Gw has really had one of the most interesting development cycles i've seen of any game. Glad to be a part of it.
Who remembers skill rings?!
ps. this thread should probably be in Screenshot Expo

Skill rings were strange. Gems, charms, and finally the cap sig which sparked the largest uprising I have ever seen. There was 300 threads on every forum. Then they changed cap sigs to what they are now...and still it sucks.
Remember the days of having 9 skills? 1 from any class. (I only read about this...if I was playing, I probably didnt have a clue what I was doing)
The old Unnatural signet was awesome!
lol I love threads like this.
(Also I disagree that this should be moved...most people wont have screenshots and will only comment on what they remember.)

I remember the huge complaints about the gui change from the rock-patterned borders to the slick metallic ones around april. I personally felt it was out of place, but got used to it, probably just like everyone else
Skill rings were fun. I remember when I paid 100g (before they increased gold drops around 10-fold) for a skill charm of zealot's fire and 60g for a monk skill ring. I then made a rudimentary farming build that gave me a good supply of gold for the rest of the betas

I sucked at taking screenshots during those events. Kind of pisses me off.

Amazing, I dont remember the looks from the fist few, but when they went over to the metalic look I remember that!
Yea, its a shame there isnt any gore in GW,... I understand the reasons why, but I dunno.. I reckon it would be MORE popular, look how popular Grand Theft Auto is!

While I think the current GW UI could use some work (I'd combine the F9 and I menus for instance, as well as some other stuff), the only thing about that old UI that I like better than today's one is this compass border:
That looks WAY better than the generic one we have now.

I played GuildWars from the first event to, and those changes, when you look at them now are really BIG changes
I love the UI as it is now
But GuildWars really has improved alot and I am also happy to be a part of this game.

Haha, old screenshots are awesome to watch
A merchant during WPE. Note the number of districts in LA.
8 people Random Arena at Fort Koga was great, and so was my build.

I love how thin the window borders are in this pic. One of my main gripes about the gray UI we have now is how unnecessarily thick the borders are. Takes up way too much space for a stupid border, IMO.
When I wrote in my previous post in this thread that I think the 'F9' and 'I' inventory menus should be combined, the tabbed interface of the left box in this above pic is what I had in mind. I hate having two different inventory menus in the current UI. What a lame idea to split them up. I want to see all of my inventory slots plus my hero/armor in ONE box, mapped to ONE key, so I can free that other key up for something else.
